Testimonials
Your chance for early admission to a tuition-free Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD programme at one of the leading universities in Russia

I chose Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University because this institution enjoys a high international reputation, particularly in the fields of microelectronics and communications. The universityʼs strong positions in world rankings, as well as its professors' experience in working with international students, were key factors in my decision. I am confident that Polytechnic University provides the ideal conditions for achieving my academic and professional goals.
I chose the major «Microelectronics and Telecommunications» because I studied digital and analog circuits and participated in several research projects in China.

I came from Uganda. While studying at Bachelorʼs prodram in mechanical engineering in Polytech I saw a poster about the Olympiad, read more about it on the Internet, and realized that this was a pretty good chance! In my Masterʼs degree, I wanted to do something related to economics, because I work in this area. Therefore, I chose the «Digital Finance, Economics and Business Analytics» program.

My journey at Polytech began with the Open Doors Russian Scholarship Project and led me to a teaching position. The first thing that struck me was the atmosphere of innovation and reverence for science. My research in turbine technology has found practical application at leading enterprises in Russia.
My main advice to students is to cultivate three key qualities within yourselves. Be curious—seek answers to complex questions. Be resilient—failure is part of the journey. And be collaborative—the most groundbreaking ideas are born at the intersection of disciplines and cultures. Polytech is the perfect place for this!

I participated in the «Open Doors» Olympiad and was admitted to the Masterʼs program at SPbPU (Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University). It was the perfect opportunity for me as an international applicant: there was no need to take additional entrance exams, and the victory gave me the chance to study on a full scholarship.
The registration and selection process was very well-organized. The Olympiad itself allowed me to demonstrate my knowledge and fulfill a long-held dream—to study engineering at one of Russiaʼs leading universities.
I am very grateful to the organizers for this project. It truly opens doors to the global educational space and provides an excellent start for a career. I highly recommend all future international students to try their hand at it.

I chose Polytechnic University because of its strong engineering school and the prospects it offers. I was admitted thanks to a scholarship from the Open Doors Olympiad — that was the deciding factor! Studying in a Masterʼs program in English is an invaluable experience, and a diploma from Polytechnic opens doors all over the world.
The professors here are ideal: they always help and even answer questions at night. My advice to future students: take advantage of every opportunity! Participate in olympiads, conferences, and build connections (networking). Sometimes networking is more important than knowledge alone. Donʼt be afraid to ask questions! Polytechnic has a lot to offer.

I think it's great to study at the Polytechnic University, because there are good professors, well equipped classes, I like the language laboratory and the computer class. I like that the teachers have included St. Petersburg sightseeing tours in the program. There is an amazing infrastructure and many student activities from sports to different clubs and communities.

This is a good University. I love studying here because there are good teachers who teach well. I like the teaching method that our teachers use. They help us learn Russian faster. I met a lot of good friends here.

My major is «Mathematics and Computer Science».
After graduating from school, I wanted to study abroad, but I could not immediately choose the university. Thanks to the information provided on the website of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of the Congo, I learned that St. Petersburg Polytechnic University carries out a good engineering education.
The university provides a really high education. The curriculum is not easy, the teachers are demanding, but if they see that the students are interested, they are willing to work extra hours. For example, I did not have the opportunity to master the basic programming languages, C, C++ and Pascal, before entering the university. Here I quickly mastered my skills from scratch. In the future I hope to continue my studies and get a Master’s Degree.

I came to Russia 5 years ago from Uzbekistan. I learned about the Olympiad here, at Polytechnic University. It is quite simple to take part in it: you need to apply through the website, attach your education certificate, fill out a questionnaire, and attach various diplomas, certificates, scientific publications, etc. In the second round, participants perform tasks on specialized subjects; examples of tasks are available on the website; one can be view them and practice.
I told all my friends and acquaintances about this Olympiad, and now even more people will learn about it through interviews. Of course, it’s a little scary to decide to participate. But why not give it a try? Example tasks are on the website of the Olympiad, it is very easy to prepare. This year, the organizers have added the possibility for postgraduate students to enter the Olympiad, as well as many new programs. So you can enter almost any specialty and area of studies.
